Is there a higher chance that you could experience early menopause?
Menopause is a stage in a woman’s life that is as much a certainty as it is getting your first period. A woman can begin to experience menopause symptoms from as young as 45 to 60 years of age. So is it possible to experience menopause at an age earlier than expected? The answer is yes. This is called early menopause, which is where the final menstrual period ends and menopause symptoms arise before a woman reaches 45.
There are many causes of early menopause. Recent research by Australia’s University of Queensland reveals that women whose periods started earlier than normal (11 years old or younger) and women who’ve never had kids have more chance of experiencing early menopause. Additional factors that may also increase chances of early menopause include:
- Family history
No two women are alike, and therefore no two women will take the same path towards menopause. A blood test can accurately identify early menopause, so if a woman suspects that this might be a concern, her general practitioner should be her first stop.
There are multiple ways that women can address the symptoms of early menopause, and not all of them involve expensive hormonal cocktails. Many choose to take Harmony Menopause as their go-to supplement when early menopause symptoms start to arise.
